Much of the work I'm invited into comes at moments when something important needs to shift - in how people work together, how decisions get made, or how an organisation finds its direction.

I work with leaders, teams, and organisations to navigate those moments - through facilitation, strategic advice, and collaboration design.

HOW I WORK

Over more than a decade I've led whole-of-government reform, designed collaborative governance models, and facilitated executive and multi-stakeholder groups through consequential work - across government, community, and consulting contexts.

My background as a corporate and not-for-profit lawyer anchors me in structure; my facilitation practice is grounded in connection.

I design and lead processes that help groups think clearly together - aligning around shared purpose, making thoughtful decisions, and moving forward together with momentum.

My approach is straight-talking, warm, and grounded - a balance of sharp analysis and deep human presence.

The formal stuff

I hold a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from The University of Queensland, along with formal training in Change Management (Prosci), Community Engagement (International Association for Public Participation - IAP2), and Partnership Brokering (Partnership Brokers Association).

My career has taken me from law to the community sector, to government and consulting - across boardrooms, communities, and complex systems. I’ve complemented my formal study with continued learning in collaborative leadership, coaching, and somatic awareness - a blend that keeps my practice both rigorous and human.

I’ve never left a workshop that Abbey facilitated without actionable insights and a clear understanding of the next steps. I highly recommend Abbey to anyone looking for a top-tier facilitator.
